Description

Sail away to "Almost Heaven", a charming cottage just across the street from the Atlantic nestled in on Myrtle Avenue. This pet-friendly single-family home has everything you need to make you feel at home on the island. While the cottage is a Kure Beach classic, "Almost Heaven" features updated furniture and appliances mixed in with antique charms and a cozy feel that will make it tough to admit that your vacation will ever come to an end.

Relax in the shade on the screened-in front porch and wave at the folks strolling by, or take in some sun and a little more privacy in the fenced in back yard. Inside the home, the living room leads to the open dining and kitchen area. The front bedroom has a Full bed and shares a short hall with a bunk bedroom (Twin over Full bed) and a full bathroom. The primary bedroom has a Full bed and a sliding glass door leading to the back yard, and the bathroom features a large walk-in shower with beautiful custom tile work. This is a clean, classic, and comfy little cottage that will be sure to bring you back year over year.

The owner supplies a storage box on the deck which includes a beach wagon to help tote items to and from the beach, beach chairs, frisbees, a set of paddles and a boogie board for guests to enjoy during their stay and store any personal equipment! Please note that to gain entry to the property, you will need to utilize the entrance on the backside of the cottage. Also while in the area, be sure to check out the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, where you will find shops, restaurants and the summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music. Watch the fishermen come in with the catch of the day at the marina or dine out with the family. Make plans today to stay in beautiful Kure Beach!

The owners of this property have done such a great job fixing it up, decorating, and providing everything you could need for a vacation. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces are also nice and roomy. The location is also perfect, so close to the beach.

Plenty of room for 5 adults and a dog. The place had everything we needed for a very nice visit. Great location with short walk to the beach. If I could recommend anything I would want more lamps so we didn’t have to use the light on the ceiling fan.

The house is very cute and good location as it is just across the street from the beach. It is well equipped with all we needed in the kitchen, beach chairs and throughout the house. Also was close to other attractions and restaurants. We would stay there again.

My family and I were very happy with this location. We have a 4 year old and 8 month old, the house was set up perfectly for them. The beach access was directly across the street. We had an issue with the hinges on our outside shower, maintenance was able to fix this very quickly. They also fixed another side door that we really didn’t notice or even call about. I would recommend this location to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay at the property,it was decorated very nicely. The property outside could have used some cleaning and at first walking into the property there was an odor but it dissapated with time. The neighborhood was peaceful and had nice neighbors. Great location!

We drove by at 1:20 and nobody was there but it was too early to check in. We went to the store and came back at 2:20 and housekeeping was there. This was disappointing since we paid extra for early 2:00 check in but couldn’t get in then. Would not pay for early check in again. They also left a bag of dirty linens on the front porch all week. The house is very close to the beach and to the beach access. It was an easy walk. We used the nice chairs left by the owners. The front porch was the best place to be in the evenings. Very shady. The back bedroom tv would not work. It couldn’t get an internet connection or when it would it would freeze or buffer. We had no issues with streaming on the front bedroom tv or in the living room. I would suggest putting a larger bed in one of the bedrooms. The bathrooms were spacious with lots of counter space. Very quiet neighborhood and the beach wasn’t too crowded. We enjoyed dinner at Jack Mackerel’s, The Spot, and breakfast at Ocean View. We cooked dinner 2 nights in the nice kitchen. Would probably rent a golf cart if staying for a full week.

The location was great. The showers were nice. Although in one of the bedrooms, there was no box spring on the bed, so not so comfortable. Also, there were no instruction on tv and had to have rental company come out. All changers required new batteries. We were also charged 2 VRBO charges, one through Bryant Realty and one through VRBO and ended up being around $500. I was not aware of extra fee for 2nd dog (was not on overview), until after booking. I was okay with that, but wished it was listed, as other place I looked at had lower fee and should have been told about 2 VRBO charges on VRBO website too, before booking. There are "palmetto" bugs everywhere, especially in kitchen (counters, drawers, cabinets, walls). That was gross. I have using vacation rentals like this for over 10 years and never had a complaint, until now. I am not picky.

To the spacious open floor plan and the beautiful nautical décor throughout. Almost Heaven truly is, Almost Heaven. Wonderful to hear you brought your dogs to enjoy the large fenced in back yard, perfect for your fur babies to sprawl out and soak up the sun! Thank you for your feedback concerning the mattress for the bunk bed, unforutanlty the bunk bed is made to not include the box spring due to the extra trundle bed underneath. Happy to hear that one of our maintenance technicians were able to come out and replace the batteries for one of the TV remotes and selected the appropriate "input" for the other TV so you may enjoy your shows/ movies. It sounds like you ran into some "locals" Palmetto Bugs! These pesky little creatures are prone to this area due to being so close to paradise. No worries! This property, including many others, are sprayed for monthly to help with this local problem. As for the pet charges, it is stated in the signed contract our pet fees (line15. PETS). To avoid paying extra 3rd party fees, when booking your next vacation, please make sure to contact one of our reservation specialist and someone will be more than happy to walk you through all charges and answer any questions you may have. VRBO is a 3rd party booking company. Thank you for choosing Almost Heaven for your beach vacation! We hope to see you in paradise again soon!

Fun and comfy beach house

We stayed at Almost Heaven for three nights while buying a boat at a nearby marina. It is roomy and comfy, and a close walk to the beach. We loved the extra big showers, and well- stocked kitchen - but I enjoyed the decor the most. Interesting and fun artwork in every room: not overdone, but nicely placed on shelves and curio cabinets. Porch swings front and back, and a nice picnic table. Lots of fun extras - we loved it.
