Description

Are you looking for a relaxed family vacation without the distractions of your normal day to day life? “Spalt” may be the perfect solution for your next family getaway! This unit is all about getting back to the basics and really spending quality time with family without the constant pull of technology.

This second-floor condo located in a privately owned tri-plex features a large deck overlooking the sand and is only steps from the beach. Although there is a basic cable provided, the TV and internet services are purposely limited to help guests leave behind the stress that comes with constantly being plugged into society. This traditional style cottage has hardwood floors and cozy décor without all the frills and clutter so you and your family can get back to the basics.

The large ocean front deck is great for relaxing or outdoor dining as it has a full-sized picnic table, rocking chairs, and the constant melody of the waves crashing in the background. The location itself is quiet yet only a few blocks from restaurants and coffee shops, you will be able to unwind with friends and family or take a short walk to the center of town.

While this is an older home the kitchen and furnishings are comfortable, functional, and the open concept living area makes for a wonderful gathering space that has helped families reconnect and make lifelong memories for generations. The large indoor dining area is perfect for board games, puzzles, or just kicking back while waiting for a home cooked meal and enjoying the ocean view. With three bedrooms, two baths, and plenty of outdoor space, this condo is perfect for small families looking for a traditional ocean front beach vacation while also being easy on the wallet.

Occupancy: 8.
Stay Requirements: Saturday to Saturday rental in summer. Minimum of 2-night stay in other seasons.
Bedding Configuration: 1 Queen, 2 Full, 2 Twin.
Parking: Assigned parking on site for 2 vehicles.
Pet Policy: No pets allowed.
Prohibited: Pets, Smoking, RV’s, Boats, Boat Trailers, Charging Golf Carts, Mail and Packages are not able to be sent to the rental.

Our stay at Wrightsville was wonderful. Ms. Dorman, Bryant Property Manager, was very helpful and professional. We have been vacationing in Wrightsville Beach since 1982. It feels like our home away from home.

The Splat cottage is beach and family comfortable with a great location and wonderful deck. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.
Our one bad experience was when a couple arrived at the upper unit on Thursday night around 11:30pm. Their loud and late arrival woke all the adults up in our party. They proceeded to come and go and clomp around upstairs until 1:30am. Needless to say, it was a short, sleepless night for us.

The property is dated but was very clean. A few pointers, bring a hairdryer, soap, trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels, beach chairs . I would have thought these would have been provided but they were not. In fairness I did not call the property management about this. Only one shower at a time as there is no water pressure if 2 showers are going at same time. The porch and rocking chairs were the highlight of the stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! We spent most our time on the beach and deck. The house was a little musty smelling and outdated, but it's comfortable. We tried to open windows to air it out, but they wouldn't stay up. Kitchen is pretty well equipped. We enjoyed being right on the beach!! Great location, good parking, short walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We would and will stay again!!

First of all, the location is excellent. The beach itself is probably 100 yards away, easy to access carrying beach gear for a group or family.
The house itself is reminiscent of beach houses from my childhood, wooden floors and wall paneling, simple, functional furniture and accomodations but with all the basic modern amenities for group needs. Lots of chairs, a couch, places to sit.
I personally would have preferred beds that were a bit more comfortable but the ones provided were sufficient. If you have one of those 2-3" foam toppers it would be an excellent bring-along.
The 2 bathrooms are basic, good water pressure, clean, etc. The kitchen is functional with everything we needed already there even though we brought some items we wouldn't want to have to do without just in case. The oven, stove, microwave and coffee pot all worked as desired.
The deck was awesome and where we spent a great deal of our time in the evenings enjoying the sound of the surf and the constant light breeze from the ocean. Fantastic.
We were a group of 3 couples, each with their own room and all agreed that the house was perfect for our weekend.
Check-in was simply entering the provided code in the door and check-out was cleaning up, closing the door and notifying the house management company through the app on my phone. When our rental became available during our trip down, a nice woman from Bryant Real Estate called me to let me know that the property was ready for check-in a bit early and I appreciated that. Excellent setup. My only real gripe is that 10:00 am is just too early on Sunday morning for check-out time. We were all bummed about that and barely made it out!
We only saw 1 dead roach which is frankly amazing considering the location of coastal North Carolina and we felt that there were no issues with bugs, at all.
Overall the house and the management treatment of us was fantastic and we will probably make plans to return around the same time nex

Had an great time there. Had trouble with the cipher lock when we first got there but called Bryant and they had someone there in 5 minutes to let us in. Gave 6 starts for the location and the wonderful porch. Location, Location, Location! Took a star off because the dish washer didn't clean and the ice maker in the refrig is broken and leaked. Property is older but nice. Lastly the light in master bedroom was really weak. Parking was fine, easy to walk to beach and town center. Had a nice relaxing time there.

Our two weeks at Wrightsville Beach were wonderful. The weather was great for the two weeks we were there. We enjoy staying at the Spalt house, the porch is great, the living/dining room is comfortable, and the layout of the bedrooms works for our family. Bryant Real Estate was very prompt responding to the few problems we had. We all look forward to our time at Wrightsville Beach and the Spalt House!

Home is in a great location with access to the beach and walk distance to town. The property is a bit dated which is fine but it needs some TLC. The home needs to be treated for pests. Also, the musty odor is very strong, and I have not been able to get the smell out of my clothes and linens. We had a 3 night stay. The management company did not express much concern or compassion.

The rental was great for our weekend trip to the beach. Right on the ocean, a nice big deck for evening cocktails and dinner. There were a few issues with the place during our stay, but the management took care of them ASAP. I would suggest a higher level of pest control though - we've stayed at many places at the beach and this one by far had the largest number of cockroaches ("waterbugs") inside the house that we've ever seen. Otherwise, the house had plenty of space and was very clean and we enjoyed our visit!

Our weather was perfect this year, absolutely perfect. Beautiful, sunny days with the perfect water to swim in, waves but not crashing waves. We love Spalt Cottage and hope that it never changes. It is simple, plain and comfortable. If you are looking for a fancy, upgraded space, Spalt is not for you! We rarely left the cottage, only to go to the beach, take walks and get supplies!

I stayed at this unit as a 2nd year MBA candidate from UNC Kenan-Flagler during beach week 2016.
Everything about this place was perfect, specially the location, the living room area and the porch.
I would absolutely turn back the clock and stay in this place again, and again.

great time witha few friends. the porch was our favorite spot. we didnt leave the house except for ice! the only draw back was the house was lacking in cleaning supplies, soap ( sink and dishwasher) sponge and paper towels. we will be prepared next year.

Overall very good. Location is fantastic. The house is nice not overly fancy but comfortable. It is great for a family who is active outside most of the day. The beds are a bit uncomfortable is the only negative.

High marks across the board (with one exception) for the property, Bryant Realty, and the entire stay! We had a wonderful time, and the property, a charmingly homey place, was well-kept, clean, and had everything we needed right on hand. Right behind the dunes, the walk to the beach takes about 2 minutes, and the view of the ocean and sound of the surf from the deck is fantastic!

Now the one caveat: the beds are very, very uncomfortable. Very old, very hard, they really need to be replaced. We had five people staying in the house in four separate beds and every single one of us woke up routinely with a backache. That said, it wasn't anything that laying on the beach in the gorgeous sunshine couldn't cure. But it was very noticeable, pretty annoying, and the only flaw I can recount from an overall wonderful week at a wonderful place!

We enjoyed this house - really it's the middle floor of a three story dwelling. The porch is huge! We stored paddle boards there and still had room to eat dinner and hang out. The only sort of complaint was the lack of cooking options- couldn't find a baking tray for pizza or scones. Super nice, clean spot and within easy walking distance of restaurants, grocery, etc.
