Step back to a simpler time and spend your Wrightsville Beach vacation in this charming historic cottage! “Lee” is located less than a block from the beach and offers 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a sprawling covered porch. You’ll enjoy relaxing in the comfy rockers on the great wraparound porch or an afternoon snooze in the hammock tucked away on the private back porch. This classic cottage is modest but offers everything you need to enjoy a week at the beach!

Comfortably furnished, the cottage has an open living and dining area that is separate from the kitchen. The large kitchen table has hosted many family gatherings and has enough space to seat 10 people. A cozy built in workstation offers a workspace for those that can’t fully unplug. The living room is furnished with period pieces that fit the cottage but also comfy enough for movie night with the family. Four bedrooms and 2 baths are on the main level of this home. The fifth guest bedroom with private bath is on the ground floor level and offers a separate entrance that is accessed through the carport.

Fayetteville Street is a very popular spot, close to Johnnie Mercer’s Pier, and downtown Wrightsville Beach with its shops, restaurants, and grocery. The “Lee” Cottage is not only in a great location but offers a taste of the way Wrightsville Beach used to be!

Stay Requirements: Sunday to Sunday rental in summer. Minimum of 3-night stay in other seasons.
Bedding Configuration: 2 Queen, 1 Full, 4 Twin.
Parking: Driveway parking on site for 3 vehicles.
Pet Policy: No pets allowed.
Prohibited: Boat Trailers, Smoking, RV’s, Boats, Pets, Mail and Packages are not able to be sent to the rental.

Large old beach cottage.

Large old beach cottage. 3 bedrooms on main floor share 1 bathroom. 1 master bedroom on main floor has its own bathroom. 1 bedroom on ground floor has its own bathroom but you will have to use the outdoor shower. Maid and on site inspection service was excellent. Enough parking for 6 compact cars, cars that will not fit will cost you $25 a day on the street. AC and all appliances in working order

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lee Cottage. Location was perfect. When we arrived we realized coffee maker did not work but the office brought us a new one whenever we called. We had already been to Walmart and purchased one to use. We wanted to watch a DVD movie but the DVD player would not work. It was not plugged into the TV and we had problems with the wires. I left a pair of slacks in the closet by accident and I called the office but I never heard back. They were in the bedroom with a connecting bath. New brown slacks with the tags still on them hanging in the closet. The following week was the hurricane so I know things were busy. Please let me know if you found them.

The property was not clean: dirty plastic cup on a table, blood on the walls and shower curtain of the green bathroom, silverware dirty, floors dirty. This last observation came from our 12-year-old grandson.

The rental experience was great with Bryant. The house really only has 2.5 baths. The lower level has a bathroom with a stained tub. No shower. None of us would use it. I did use the outdoor shower after it was repaired which worked great for me, but I'm a guy. The furniture is in pretty rough shaped. Lots of stains. Definitely needs more seating in the living room. Only seats 4 people in comfortable seating. Others had to sit on hard kitchen chairs. An added sofa would easily fit in the space. If the furniture was updated and the lower level bath had a shower, I would give a much higher review. Otherwise, it was great. Location is perfect.

Overall this house did the job with great location, convenience of linens ready to go and picked up at check-out, it was pretty clean, no smells or bugs, and was spacious for our group. Also even though the A/C died in the first few hours, someone came out very quickly and fixed it very quickly (thanks!) so no real complaints there.
Drawbacks:
-Really tired living room furniture (cushions worn and uncomfortable)
-The deck was very dirty and the rocking chairs were practically black and got our clothes dirty so we had to wash the entire deck and all furniture off ourselves with a hose upon arrival. Once clean though the spacious porch and rocking chairs were great to have.
-Front storm door does not close at all, so that should be fixed or all the A/C gets lost as people go in and out so much.
-Master bedroom mattress very sagged in the middle and uncomfortable - needs replacing.
-Bathrooms: The main hall bath has a window inside the shower which did have a shower curtain over the window however it was 2or3 inches too short! so that poor window is gonna rot to heck very soon (already is) because the water is going alll over it during every single shower. Also having no fans doesn't help anything. The separate unit downstairs has absolutely no way to take a shower: no curtain, no showerhead, just a single tub faucet, so not very convenient. Also terrible lighting in that bathroom, and no convenient plug in the bedroom.

Love the closeness of the rental to the ocean. The house has very accommodating, with lots of room. Some updates would be nice but all in all it was just what we needed. Would rent again

Had a great stay at Lee. Amazing location, quiet and with easy access to the surf and the sound. As the pics show it is an older home, great for those nostalgic for when Wrightsville was all cottages. Fantastic back porch with hammock, front porch with rocking chairs. The downstairs is quite humble and small - world's smallest bathtub - but private. The main level rooms are spacious and the common areas are nice. Our only complaints have to do with the kitchen - we eat in every meal, and the kitchen is not quite well-enough appointed for a big family that cooks. For $20 at a thrift store you could get twice as many utensils so people wouldn't have to wash dishes between lunch and dinner. One or two heavy-duty pots and pans would make a huge difference - the electric burners are quite uneven and we had problems with food getting burned. Most of the pots and pans are super thin and many of them had food burned onto the bottoms so we know it is a recurring problem. Some other things like a BIG soup pot and salad spinner would also be cheap acquisitions. The dishwasher was sort of a disaster - unbalanced and really ineffective, not sure if it needs repair or replacement but who wants to have to hand-wash things that have already been through the dishwasher on vacation? So while we did have a great stay and would consider coming back - partly because there are few properties in this price range of this size - some small kitchen upgrades would really have increased our satisfaction.

Second time we stayed in this house. Nice and spacious. Love the covered front porch. Back porch has hammock that older grandchildren love. Kitchen size adequate. A newer stove would be nice as electric stove top burners are tricky to use-a little unstable. All in all, my family loves this house.

Great house location easy walk to beach. Accommodations great except for kitchen. Stove top hard to cook on and dishwasher has a problem locking door for wash cycle. Guests should be made aware how to handle the dishwasher glitch.

This is my family's 19th year renting this cottage. I'd say that we like it a lot. The decor is simple, comfortable and clean. Close to the ocean on a quiet side street. Plenty of parking for up to 6 cars. Kitchen is well stocked.

Have stayed in this same house for several years, lost of room for all the family and grand kids. Location is good and easy access to the beach. Sit on the porch watch the water, so relaxing.. Walking distance to ice cream parlor and best hot dogs anywhere at the Trolly Stop. Good place to take family and kids.

Since 2006 The Lee has been our home away from home. When my mom died in 2012 we felt going back to The Lee might be too difficult so for three summers we tried other locations. Happily we returned this summer. The neighbors remember us and gave us a hearty welcome back.
