Description

Welcome to Carolina Beach! "Winborne" is a lovely oceanfront duplex just six blocks south of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Spectacular panoramic views of the ocean are visible from the open design of this home. There are balconies on every floor so you can let in the fresh ocean air. You will find shops, restaurants, and an abundance of summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music all at our legendary Boardwalk.

This cheerfully decorated duplex has three living levels that can be accessed via stairs from the ground level. There are 4 bedrooms with TVs in each room, as well as 3.5 bathrooms to accommodate everyone. On the ground floor, there is enough room for 2 cars, one under the carport as well as one in the driveway.

The first level holds two bedrooms, each with their own private balcony. The first bedroom has a queen bed and a private half bathroom, with the oceanside balcony. The second bedroom has a twin daybed with a pull-out twin trundle bed that is perfect for the kids, and the street side balcony. This floor also has an additional, communal full bathroom with a shower tub combination that makes bath time for the little ones a breeze. A convenient full-size washer and dryer are also located on the first floor.

The open concept second level is where you will find the fully equipped kitchen that features two eat-in bars that seat six, a full dining area for six, and a separate breakfast area that seats 4, ensuring that there is more than enough room for everyone. The living area overlooks the oceanfront covered balcony and includes a pull-out sleeper sofa so that this space can serve as an additional sleeping area.

Finally, the third level is where you will find two additional bedrooms, both with separate private balconies. The primary bedroom has the oceanside balcony, with a king bed and full private bathroom, that includes a double vanity sink and stand in shower. The last bedroom has the street side balcony, with a Queen bed and full private bathroom with another walk-in shower.

Stay Requirements: Saturday to Saturday rental in Summer. Minimum two night stay other seasons.
Bedding Configuration: 1 King, 2 Queens, 1 Day Bed with Twin Trundle, 1 Sofa Bed.
Parking: Parking for two vehicles - one under carport, one driveway.
Prohibited: Smoking, Pets.

For larger family gatherings, rent the adjoining unit “C123 Whitney”, for a total of 8 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms, and 2 living areas! Contact Bryant directly for details and availability.

Great location, but needs some updated

The house is great and in a great location. There were some issues during the stay. The tvs and Wi-Fi go in and out. I was so happy that there was an elevator due to the multiple floors, however the elevator became stuck between 2 floors with me and my 2 younger children. They became really scared. Thankfully, my husband was able to get the door open after about 15 minutes and we were able to crawl out. Also on our last night the people next to us moved in and since it is a shared porch area with only a wall the dogs were running backs and forth on and came and locked my son that is highly allergic to dogs. The people were very nice once we explained that my son is allergic but I did not know that we would have to deal with something like that.Again, the house is great and spacious. Very clean.

This is I believe our 6th year working with Bryant Real Estate and our third year at this property. Bryant is very professional and friendly and we love the location. Close enough to walk to the boardwalk for the kids and also close to walking-distance dinner spots. We have already reserved for 2023! (one encouragement: please hold pricing at these levels. Big jump this year.)

The location is fantastic, well within walking distance of the Boardwalk area. The duplex was clean but could use some rugs at the rear porch sliding door to help keep the beach sand off the floor. It could also use more comfortable patio furniture on the decks to enjoy the beautiful views. The Army Corp of Engineers was doing a beach erosion project for the first two days of visit. The machines were very loud and ran all day and night. I would have appreciated being made aware of this prior to my arrival.

Michael, Thank you for your feedback! We are so glad that you enjoyed the property. We will definitely make the recommendation to the owner regarding rugs at the sliding doors and updated patio furniture.

Beach renourishment occurs about every three years here to conserve our beaches and proactively protect our roads, bridges, infrastructure, etc. from future storms. We are fortunate here to be able to draw sand offshore to pump back onto our beaches. The operation is a 24-hour operation that utilizes lights and machinery; however, they do this to speed up the process and progression along the beach. 1,000 feet sections should be fenced off at a time making the farthest access 500 feet away. Unfortunately, we have no control over the hours of operation or scheduling of this project.

We have a banner at the top of our website that states beach renourishment is happening and provides a link to “learn more”. The project was supposed to be complete by the end of April, however this did not occur and an extension was provided until June 12 to complete the work.

Our contract does include a section on beach renourishment as it is a recurrence every so often depending on necessity and funds, so we are indeed not in breach of our contract.
26. BEACH NOURISHMENT: Some oceanfront areas may be part of beach nourishment projects. Projects are planned by individual towns and are weather dependent, therefore schedules cannot be set or confirmed in advance. Tenant may be subject to inconvenience during these projects. No refunds will be given.

Again, I do apologize as I know this is not an ideal scene to view during your vacation however it does allow us to have a beach to be able to enjoy for years to come

The house itself was ok, but there we a few issues that were unacceptable for the price we paid and all the associated fees. There were only 6 forks and 8 meal size plates. This was a home advertised for 10. The bedspreads were filthy and mattress pad stained and gross. We arrived with a dirty sponge left in the kitchen sink and instructions to bag all of our sheet and towels for the cleaning person who we paid to clean. The patio chairs were old and uncomfortable , the sofa bed was horrible, and none of the beds were made for us.

We enjoyed the location and the beach view, however, the house furnishings were old and outdated. The kitchen lacked useful serving pieces and there is only 8 forks, knives, plates and however plenty of teaspoons. During our visit the beach restoration prevented us from using the beach for a day and a half, we were not told about the restoration at check in or when we booked only the month and half before and we learned that it was happening for months from local businesses, I feel Bryant real estate should inform their customers.

This is a beautiful property in a great location. We were in walking distance of the boardwalk, shops and restaurants. The views from the balconies were amazing, we spent a lot of time out there! We loved the huge shower in the master bedroom. My only suggestion would be to add hooks in the bathrooms instead of towel bars because there was not enough hanging space when multiple people shared a bathroom. The elevator was a huge plus for my 81 year old father in law. We loved our stay and were sad to go home!

We really enjoyed our stay @the Winborne. We have never stayed on the beach and loved the views & convenience. Our only disappointments were the carpets in each bedroom were quite dirty & should be replaced. I wish they had a separate trash bin to make recycling easier.

First time rental experience with Bryant Real Estate-the rental process was fast and smooth process. The rental property was clean and beautiful. There were some repairs that needed to be done during our stay and we’re dealt with in a prompt manner. Overall, the experience was very good.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. The rental company was extremely responsive when the elevator did not work. The home was very clean. It is in need of painting and updated decor. The queen bedroom on the bottom floor does have a balcony but you can only see the beach if you stand on your tiptoes due to the dunes and a large bush that needs to be cut back. That same bedroom has a very small half bath and shares a bath tub with the bedroom that contains two twins.

This vacation home is perfectly located on a less crowded part of the beach and has breathtaking views from windows and porches.
Lots of seating in the open-concept main living area. All rooms are spacious and fairly modern.

Perfect getaway with friends! Location on the beach was perfect for viewing dolphins and walking.
The elevator was very helpful in transporting up and down 4 floors.
The place was clean and had all the amenities we needed!

The house had not been cleaned when we arrived. So, our 5pm check in became 7pm as we had to call Bryant then wait for someone to come clean it. Not what you want during Covid. Overall, they house needed some TLC. Stains on carpet, rusty table (which had been reported by prior guest) no furniture on decks other than main deck. Comfortable furnishings. No ammenities like beach chairs or games. Very basic.

The house smelled like smoke when we arrived and there was food under the trundle bed. The 3rd floor upper deck railing was rotten and so we were unable to use that deck. Both upper and lower decks had no chairs. Two of the chairs on the main deck were broken and unusable but were replaced quickly. The main deck table is rusted with very sharp edges and dangerous. The kitchen faucet needed to be tightened as the handle was ready to fall off. My frustration is that these items should all have been noticed by a competent cleaning crew and safety inspector and I should not have had to deal with maintenance (who was very polite and helpful) on my vacation. We love to vacation in Carolina Beach and this unit has the potential to be a great rental.

We LOVE the Winborne and have stayed there multiple times! The layout is perfect for our usual group of family including 3 adults and 4 kids age range 13-17. Perfect location for walking to the great restaurants close by as well as private access to a great location on the beach!

My family and I (7 of us) stayed at Winborne and it was an amazing stay! Super easy check in and check out process. The home was clean and up to date. The pictures online don’t do this place justice. There was more than enough room for the 6 of us and the views from almost all the rooms were beautiful. I highly recommend this place!

This rental was perfect. The elevator made luggage and groceries very easy. The view was terrific and the location made it easy to walk or drive to restaurants and shops. AA++, we will rent this again. I would recommend more deck chairs for the upper and lower deck areas. There was none on the lower deck and only one on the upper deck.

We enjoyed our stay at Winborne very much. Access to the beach was lovely, we could easily walk to the boardwalk for donuts in the morning or gelato at night. Great for families with kids! I loved having morning coffee on the balcony as the sun came up.

Overall we had a nice time relaxing with our family. This home is in a nice location and we really enjoyed watching the sunrise. The home itself is in need of some work. The outdoor deck is splintering and nails are popped up leading to all of us tearing up our feet. Inside needs painting, caulking and basic maintenance. The vertical blinds are missing in areas and are of different colors due to being replaced individually. The refrigerators ice maker and water dispenser continuously leaks, leaving the hardwood floor with water damage. There were only 4 of us, but if there were more of us, seating would not be sufficient in the living room. The deck furniture is extremely dated as well. Basically this home really needs a facelift. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Nicole DeMarco, an employee of the property management company, was AMAZING. She went above and beyond to locate a Catholic Church for us and email a list of restaurants and things to do in the area.

Need repair/replacement of broken items.... slider doors' handles/towel racks falling off, TVs malfunctioning, ice maker still not working despite repairman worked on it (same issue as 2 yrs ago in this house),carport/ext. shower lights not working, latches on outside storage/shower very rusty/would not latch, dryer not working well(floor vent tube needs emptying)

The house itself was very nice. We were there for a short couple days for a college visit to UNCW. We were a bit disappointed in what was provided by the rental company for the cost of the rental. How much could it possibly cost to provide little bars of soap or shampoo? We rent routinely in Isle of Palms, SC and we are provided a renters packet with a mini dish soap and soap for one load of the dishwasher. We had nothing to even run the washer when we left. Agreeing with a previous review, the balcony off the master had a number of loose and old decking that should be attended to. On our day of checkout at precisely 1000 when we were trying to get out of the unit, there was an elevator repairman show up. I asked if there was a problem and he answered, "No just doing a routine check". We had luggage to get out and had to struggle down the stairs because of this. Knowing they had renters there, they could have been courteous enough to wait until 1030 so we could get our things out.

I'm sorry to hear there was no pod for the dishwasher left in the unit for you- we do typically provide one for every reservation. I will certainly put in a service order for the boards off the master balcony. I also apologize for the elevator vendor. While that is out of our hands- we do not schedule the regular elevator maintenance- they should have waited until the property was vacant. However, we are glad that you liked the property overall, and we hope to see you back at the beach again soon. Thanks again!

House itself was beautiful, in a great location. The furnishings were okay, however there was no DVD player that we could find anywhere and my guests brought and bought movies that we didn't get to see...would be nice to have some deck chairs for the third level deck. Advertised outdoor shower, but just a hose. Overall very good experience, and I would rent again and recommend to others!

Great location, nice house and particularly enjoyed the use of elevator, on unloading and reloading for departure. However, concerned about the lack of routine maintenance; multiple light bulbs burned out, on arrival found ice maker frozen and leaked all over floor (took apart,removed ice and cleaned it, due to black chunks in ice)but it still did not work well, pickets on deck missing and loose, vertical blinds missing thru out, broken outlet plates (2 young children). Extensive list of needed repairs provided at checkout. "Required" two visits by repair staff for critical repairs but quickly responded

All things considered, we had a very nice winter holiday vacation for a week at this beach house. So nice to be right on the ocean, where it wasn't too cold to stroll along the beach on most of the late-December days. The ocean views from the beach-side rooms were very pleasing. The rental agent dealings went smoothly. The house was in good shape, and clean.

The only complaints dealt with a couple of maintenance items. The primary one would be that the vertical wood slats on the outside handrail going down from the main living room/kitchen floor to the boardwalk to the beach were in need of maintenance/repair. Several vertical slats were missing and some were rotted. That was of concern because we had a 4 and a 6 yr old in our party. Also, why have a tub in the upstairs (street side) room bathroom if there is no plug to hold the water in. I bought one for the tub.

Overall, for sure a great rental experience that I would recommend for others.

At the urging of our 3 1/2-year-old grandson, we booked “his” vacation house again this year, despite our mixed reviews last year. We arrived this year (for a 2-week stay) and found that the house’s overall appearance of cleanliness had somewhat improved over last year. Having said that, the overall condition of house is showing its age. In particular, the exterior decking/railings looked in need of attention (worn decking with lots of nail-pops and loose railings/missing spindles - disconcerting for small children or those with physical challenges). As it happened, we chatted with the visiting owners of the attached house, who indicated that they and the owners of our house were planning to make improvements to the [common] exterior/decking for the coming season; this would be a major selling point to me for another visit.

Overall, our stay was fine. The house met most of our needs in terms of location and amenities. We noted that the patio table was the same, weather-worn one as last year. Because it was nearly impossible to keep a coffee cup or wineglass upright on the table, we decided on day 2 to visit the nearest Lowes and buy a new one (we found a nice sturdy table which matched the decor for $70 - a worthwhile investment/donation for the amount of pleasure it gave). We also brought a couple of extra folding chairs with us this year so that there was seating on the lower/upper decks for guests staying in those oceanfront rooms; it’s a pity these are not provided as a basic amenity. This year, there was a new exterior lock on the main deck patio sliding doors which caused inconvenience since it was impossible to lock/unlock from the outside. The sharp threshold stripping was also loose on that patio door. Most of these things should be fixable.

Management company was responsive to our needs. Replaced a non-functioning coffeemaker on Day 2 and sent a maintenance man to replace batteries in a smoke detector which chirped during th

Accommodated us in short notice, fixed a couple of problems quickly (wi-if and cable) and verified they had taken care of AC "mold" complaint from previous comments, which turned out to be rust on the vents. We would stay there again... the only thing they need is patio furniture on all of the decks. Located by the veggie wagon which is a plus!

Beautiful location and property. All was organized well by Bryant. However, the property was not up to standard expected. It was in need of several small repairs which I did - Fixed sliding screen back to track, bought WD-40 to fix main door latch, repogrammed TV controller to link with TV, etc. Bryant responded immediately to fix AC problem.

The view was spectacular. The proximity to the ocean was also great. The property's boardwalk itself needs a bit of attention. Carpets could use a cleaning/replacement. Lower level bathroom needs updating to equal the mid and upper level bathrooms which were great. Loved the floor layout in the great room/kitchen space-powder room was so handy. Mostly cosmetic concerns but location was superb. Bryant did an excellent job with all of our questions throughout the process from locating the property to moving in/out and providing local points of interest and dining options. Bryant also coordinated the use of rental umbrellas and chairs making it a one-stop-shop.

This property is in an ideal beachfront location. It is within walking distance of a small boardwalk with rides and games for children and some restaurants and bars for adults and families. A/C was not working when we arrived but problem was corrected within a few hours. Decor is nice and kitchen is well stocked with most things you need if preparing meals. A short drive to Wilmington offers shopping, restaurants and interesting sights and entertainment for the whole family.
