Description

Our "Templeton" townhome is in the Bluewater Complex on Pleasure Island and only eight blocks south of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. You will be within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and an abundance of summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides, movie at the lake, and live music all at our legendary Carolina Beach Boardwalk.

Have fun in the sun while staying at this three-level, oceanfront townhouse! There are 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and enough space to accommodate the whole family. Enjoy your morning coffee and watching the sunrise from one of the three spacious oceanfront balconies. The first floor features an open floorplan kitchen with an eat in kitchen bar that seats two and overlooks the dining room and living area. The dining table seats four and welcomes family meals or evening board games. The living room offers a great gathering space to relax and watch TV and a sleeper sofa enables this space to transform into an additional sleeping area for extra guests. A large sliding glass door leads out to the large balcony with an outdoor dining set that seat up to six people. Enjoy dining ocean front as the waves crash in the background! There is a half bathroom next to the kitchen, for convenience.

On the second floor, you will find two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a Queen bed, private full bathroom with shower tub combination, and private ocean front balcony with rocking chairs. The second bedroom on this floor is perfect for the kids with two twin beds and a separate full bathroom with a standing shower.

The third floor has the spacious primary suite that offers privacy and a great place to escape to relax. A large Queen-size bed, TV, and oceanside balcony with rockers make this the ultimate retreat at the end of a long day. The primary suite also includes its own full bathroom that has a walk-in shower.

Updated windows ensure that you will never miss the opportunity to catch a pod of dolphins offshore, or the majestic seabirds flying about. The beach access is just at the end of the building, making it a convenient location to walk to the beach. There is a lifeguard stand (#9) just outside at the Spartanburg beach access, so your family can safely enjoy the ocean fun! Make your plans to visit Coastal Carolina today!

Stay Requirements: Saturday to Saturday rental in Summer. Minimum two night stay other seasons.

We loved that it was oceanfront and it had enough room for our family. A deep cleaning would have been nice. I spent the first day cleaning it myself and Maintenance had to come in to clean the dishwasher which was moldy/mildewy. It could use some updating.

The place itself, is very dirty, old and dated. The master bathroom is tiny, with a very low toilet and small shower stall with a curtain. The lighting in this bathroom is terrible.
The carpeting in the entire unit should be removed, as it is very stained, dirty and smells. The railings are disgusting to touch, sticky with grime build up, that I could not remove even with 409. The dryer is on its last legs, it screamed terribly on several occasions, which left us nervous to put clothes in it and walk away. Short and t shirts took 2 hours to dry.
The furniture, as I said is old, dated and dirty, but adequate . The rattan dining room furniture needs a good scrubbing as the crevasse are full of dirt and grime. I don’t think the cleaners ever wipe down the baseboards or dining room chandler as they too had a lot of dust on them, throughout the entire place.
The air vent door is also very dirty and had mold on them.

The kitchen had more items than we expected (ie some basic spices, coffee filters, sugar salt pepper etc). the description gave the impression there were none, It is small, a “one butt” as we call it. However, it did lack some basic cooking utensils. (measuring cup, whisk,). The knives were all very dull. There were 2 sets of dishes and eating utensils, which we found odd. The ice maker in the freezer does not appear to be hooked up. The cabinets are the original, painted a lot.

There were no instructions on how to operate the tv, there were 3 remotes.

Like I said great location, easy beach access. In the past we have stayed at places with direct beach access (versus this one which is a public access), so this wasn’t bad at all.

The place was adequate but for what it cost, we know we could have stayed at a more updated, modern place. We will not be returning to this unit, but we will to CB. We have come to CB every year for the past 8 years.

I just want to forewarn future guests so that they do not experience the level of disappointment that my family and I experienced. The property is ocean front, but does not have a walkway or pathway to the beach. The only walkway is a Public Beach Access down the road. The beach was extremely overly crowded with lots of people within less than 6 inches of each other. The surrounding units were being “repaired” the entire time we were there. We were woken up very early every morning by the very loud sounds of power tools, hammering and music. The property is also extremely outdated. The carpets could use a good cleaning and the furniture could be updated. I must mention that Bryant Real Estate was absolutely amazing. Their staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend booking with them, just not this particular unit.

We were very happy with this property....even though it is in need of a little TLC we found it to be clean and in a great location, management was very friendly and easy to deal with....we would recommend this property to anyone and we will be back. Love Carolina beach!

This was a very nice townhouse some of the things where outdated but it was clean and the ocean views where the best part of staying there and my family and I really enjoyed staying and if we decide to go back to North Carolina we will want to come back to Templeton

The view was spectacular. The condo was clean and spacious. Could walk to dining and shopping. Quiet despite nearby construction. However multiple peeled ceilings and loose fixtures in third floor bathroom. Chairs in living room worn and need cleaning.

As with other reviewers, this property could use some attention such as two chairs on the top deck. It would have been nice to be able to enjoy. That said, the views are wonderful, the location is terrific. The house is well equipped but bring your own measuring cup and games. The garage has all manner of beach chairs, bicycles, toys and boogie boards. One of the parking spots is in the one car garage.We had 2 large vehicles and had to keep moving cars. Great views and location. Comfortable beds.

This rental was great for our family of 4 (couple with 2 adultish children). The location and the views (from every level) were perfect. Going to the beach always reminds me of my childhood of the 70s and early 80s - and the furnishings at Templeton do as well! All of the reviews about this place being outdated are spot on but it really didn't matter. The main couch looks outdated but actually was comfortable. 2 of the bathrooms were too small but functional. The kitchen appliances were basic but worked great. We were able to prepare and cook an entire Thanksgiving meal with no problem. As previous owners of a rental property ourselves and having rented dozens of places around the world, we spent some time thinking of how we would want to fix up this place if we owned it. Get a Keurig to replace the antiquated conventional coffee maker, put a microwave above the oven and ditch the console size microwave on the counter. Also, in the family room, get rid of the entertainment center and mount the tv on the wall - to create a little more room. All in all though, would we rent this place again - absolutely. To be honest, I would probably check first to see if any other condos adjacent to this unit are available to rent but - if not - would rent this place again in a heartbeat. It was very comfortable and functional and we were able to have a great 3 day trip with our sons. Walking downtown to the various restaurants and bars is a breeze. We also recommend the short walk south on the beach to the Ocean Grill Tiki Bar on the pier. I am not sure if this would be a good place with elderly people who don't want to navigate stairs, but we would recommend this to small families and multiple couples. The Bryant Real Estate folks are top notch with plenty of informative email communications prior to, during and after our stay.

The folks at Bryant were so great to work with, I will use them any time I am vacationing at Carolina Beach. I came in on short notice but they got me in early. A vacation that started on a nightmare turned into a wonderful time with my daughters and grandaughters.

Rental had the best views ever! Alot of steps as it's a town house so I would not recommend for older people or people with younger children but it made for a great family vacation as everyone had their own space. Great location. Close to everything. Only reason I gave a 4 star to condition is that it is dated and could use some upgrades and if you plan to cook its light on pans, otherwise everything you need. Thanks for a great 1st trip to Carolina beach. We will return.

We enjoyed staying here. It's a middle unit, so you have to walk to the end of the building to get to the pathway to the beach, but it wasn't a terrible walk. It is a bit outdated, but very clean. Linens do not come w/ a less than 5 night stay.

The rental was very nice and only steps from the beach. It was very clean and spacious, big enough for the whole family. A terrible inconvenience was that maintenance showed up during the stay to take measurements for the unit owner. They were noisy and disturbed us while we were relaxing. I would think that maintenance could have come between vacancies as to not disturb anyone. Some of the outdoor chairs provided were worn out and should be replaced as well. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Best vacation in a long time. Great property on the ocean with ton on things to do that were close. Ferry to Southport was the highlight of our stay. Townhouse was in the perfect location. Walked everywhere except ferry.

A very nice stay. The property was very clean when we arrived and well maintained. It had a surprising well stock kitchen/cupboards that had plenty of dishes and cooking supplies. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. The views from the balcony were tremendous. The Bryant Real Estate staff were very friendly and accommodating when I called. There was a little confusion about the entry code, at first, however it was quickly rectified. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place on the ocean.

Yes the view from the top fkoor is beautiful. You can hear the waves crashing in, the two other floors have an obstructed view from the dunes. Stairs and more stairs, its a very good workout eaoecially after a day in the sand! No linens, this is ridiculous for thenprice. Very small televisions. Tiny bathrooms and only a tub in one. The garage has some things for beach and two bikes, but the tires are flat. Bring your own trash bags, they give you one. A dew seasonings and very few pots and pans. We enjoyed it but will look elsewhere for the next trip, for the price it should have had it ALL!

Excellent property for rental. Not suitable for small children as there are open backed stairs to two levels. The internet never operated correctly during our visit. The view of the beach is extraordinary!

Layout was great for two families. However only room for one vehicle for parking. The furnishing needed a little updating, The pots and frying pans are in pretty rough shape. The beds were comfortable. The upstairs toilet had a leak and the showers are very small, Best thing was the views from the 3 ocean facing decks and time spent with friends.

Overall the condo was fine. Location is good and the ocean view was was nice to have bedrooms and baths on separate floors.
There was a problem with the access code when we arrived, but a new one was activated immediately when I called Bryant. Inside there were two different WIFI passwords posted, both different from the one Bryant communicated. We were only there for the weekend were surprised to find no paper towels, dishwasher detergent or extra toilet paper.

I HAVE RENTED THIS PROPERTY FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS AND AM HAPPY OVERALL WITH MOST ASPECTS OF THE PROPERTY. HOWEVER, AS I HAVE POINTED OUT THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS THE SLEEP SOFA IN THE LIVING ROOM IS BEAT UP AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO SIT OR SLEEP ON AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT- HOPEFULLY BEFORE MY STAY HERE NEXT YEAR! ALSO, WOULD YOU PLEASE INSURE THAT THERE ARE REPLACEMENT LIGHT BULBS FOR THE ONES THERE AND A FLASHLIGNT AND GOOD BATTERIES AVAILABLE FOR POWER OUTAGES. We have stayed two separate times and enjoyed both stays very much. It did appear if there have been some upgrades to some of the rooms and bathrooms however I would still recommend a few more. The shower on the third floor doesnt work well and its almost impossible to get sand off because the shower head doesnt have much pressure. The bathroom on 3rd floor stays unbearably hot too. Also the shower on the outside is broken and would be helpful to keep sand from getting all through out the house. The bed upstairs was also very hard and uncomfortable. The extra blankets in the closet were falling apart and generally the throw pillow through the house look old and stained. The garage was very messy and there were beach items piled on top of the water heater which seemed unsafe. On the plus side the condo is located in a beautiful location and it is great there are 3 balconys and plenty of room for everyone to have their on space.

In viewing this property online we knew of the open stairs and made arrangements to have baby gates at three locations so as to keep my granddaughers safe. And the gates did work well for that. It also appeared the stair railings were far apart and not safe for children. So before renting I questioned the rental company about it and told them I would have a 19 month old and a 7 month old. They assured me that they would be safe and it was to code. Upon arrival we found the railings were at least 8" to 10" apart. Both girls could have easily fallen through the railings. If this is up to building code I am glad I live in VA. We were able to put a tarp over the banister and keep luggage and boxes in front of the railing which helped some, But we were nervous the whole trip.
On a positve note, the condo views are beautiful and the location of the condo is excellent. Walking distance to the Boardwalk, Pop's Ice Cream, Squigly's, Vinny's and the Lake. The condition of the condo was nice enough. The Real Estate company, for the most part, was very helpful, friendly, easy to work with and quick to respond. Other than not having accurate information on the railings I had no problems with the realty company.
My reccomendations are if you have older kids (pre-teen and older) this would be a good place to stay because of the views and the prime location. I would not, however, recommend it for small children until the railing is fixed.
I would rent from Bryant Real Estate again but I would not rent this vacation home. Not until the grandbabies are grown or the railings are fixed.

Four adults and one child stayed in spacious Templeton at the beginning of the summer. The location and the building were very quiet. Everything we needed was in the home. We had a few issues with the bedding on the first night but Bryant took care of it for the linen supplier the very next morning. We hope to stay in or near Templeton again.

The property was a good size for 3 quiet adults. The kitchen could use some updating as well as equipment to remove sand, we thought a new broom and dustpan would have been a nice thing to keep on hand. It was a bit musty when we arrived but after leaving doors open for a little while, the smell dissipated. The beds were very comfortable, we all slept well. Slightly more comfortable furniture on the porches would have been wonderful to enjoy the views.

This was an adorable townhouse in a great location. I am glad I selected a rental property with second and third floors because it gave us more (and better) ocean views and allowed both of us to sleep to the sound of the waves and see the sunrise. The house was very clean, the beds very comfortable. Overall we were very happy with the house. We had only the following negatives: We had been spoiled with other VRBO properties we have rented in previous years which had all the consumable household supplies we needed. I realize the contract did specify these items would not be provided, but we had to go out and buy Kleenex, paper towels, hand soap for the kitchen/bathroom, and laundry detergent. On the other hand there were grocery (food) items most likely left behind by other tenants which should have been cleaned out--like a 4 month old box of Pop-tarts, and zip lock bags full of cereal. We only cooked breakfasts in the house but we did not find a decent non stick frying pan to cook eggs. The one we found to use actually took a steel wool pad to get the egg residue off the "non-stick" surface even tho we used cooking spray and butter in the pan. Other than those things, we were very happy with the place.

This rental was a great place to make memorable memories with my family. The property was clean and the view was amazing. Our favorite place was on the decks which were convinently spacious compared to previous places we have stayed at. The location was perfect because we had a short walk to the boardwalk, which makes it easy when you have a large group and two vehicles. Altogether this is a wonderful place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at this rental.

Condo was clean and in a great location with a nice view of the beach. Kitchen and bathrooms are in need of upgrades. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and enjoyed the location just across from the lake and about .75 miles from the carnival/boardwalk.

IT WAS GOOD EXCEPT THAT THE SOFA IN THE LIVING ROOM AND THE OVEN ARE WELL WORN AND NEED REPLACEMENT. BOTH TOILETS IN THE BATHROOMS ON THE SECOND FLOOR DON'T WORK PROPERLY AND NEED NEW TANK COMPONENTS.

This 3 level unit worked well for our family. The unit was clean and neatly arranged with all the kitchen utensils needed to prepare our food. The booking was a breeze and the staff was friendly. Parking was a bit cramped so if you rent this unit, large trucks or suvs may be a problem to park at the unit so bring a Prius. Pricing was decent for the location and size and age of the unit.

Great location. We felt the home should have been spotless. Glasses dishes utensils pots and pans were dirty and had to be washed by us prior to use, also had to wash the spreads. My advice is to remove some of the clutter. Did love the location.

The place was nice. The appliances are old but they work. The dishwasher dispenser gets stuck. It needs to be repaired. My family enjoyed being on the beach and the beach access is at then end of the unit. The stairs were steep for my 80 year old mother, but she managed. The balconies facing the ocean are very nice. There was a baby gate if anyone had young ones. Overall, we enjoyed our vacations.

We sent our tech down to investigate and unfortunately we were not able to replicate the issue. The soap dispenser latch functioned properly. Sometimes if you over load the dispenser or the dishwasher it can prevent the dispenser from opening fully. Either way, the unit seems to be working fine. If you return to this house, or anyone of our homes, do not hesitate to give us a call should you encounter a problem during your stay. We have a large maintenance staff that is here to help!

Overall we had a good stay but there were some issues. Firstly was parking. We had two vehicles and the smallest of the two, which is a smaller truck, would not fit entirely in the garage. Our concern was since we could not close the garage door, that we would be responsible for the items that were stored in it had something gone missing. Secondly, the home was very cluttered with personal food items in the cabinets and the décor on the counters made it difficult to find space to store our groceries. The refrigerator seemed fairly new so that was good. Thirdly, the oven was ancient. The large eyelet on the front left side was very loose and didn't work and the oven wouldn't heat but the broiler setting did. We like to eat in so this was a huge disappointment. Fourthly, the garbage disposal did not work and the sink stayed stopped up. When we ran the dishwasher, water would come up through the sink with food particles in it and then would take FOREVER to drain back down. It was disgusting.
On a positive note, the location was ideal and the town was cute and quaint. It was nice to be able to take a short walk to the beach, boardwalk, shops and restaurants. The carpet seemed new and having beach views from the 3 decks was very nice. The air unit worked nicely too. We did enjoy the riding bikes around. Fortunately, since we had a truck, we were able to load them up and take them to a gas station to pump up the tires. It would have been nice to have a hand help pump. The bikes were a bit heavy for us women to load.
I would say overall, in spite of these issues, we did have a lot of fun. I hope the owners resolve these issues because it really is in a great location. I think though, for next year, we will seek another unit.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We are sorry you had some issues with the oven. This oven is on the older side, but it does work. There are 2 separate knobs that control the oven settings. We had our tech go out to the property, and the oven worked fine for him. Next time, please feel free to call our office- some homes have their own quirks and we are happy to elaborate on them to make sure you enjoy your stay flawlessly. Additionally, the burner was that was not working for you had to be reconnected, but we would have loved the chance to fix it for you during your stay. Lastly - the garbage disposal did have some debris that had jammed the grinder. This caused the back up and was the reason why it was not working. We took care of this immediately on your check out when you provided all the above information for us. Thank you again for this feedback - it enabled us to ensure the home was operating at its top level for the guest checking immediately after you. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future!

The location was great and the house was clean. However, there was too much furniture in the unit. A few of the closets were full. The garage had 6 bikes and other stuff which did not allow me to park a car in it. Therefore, there was only one space available. There was food already in some cabinets in the kitchen. The showers leaked and the dishwasher did not work.
I called the office upon my arrival and told them about thees things. However, they could not help right away wit the parking problem . The person at the office said it "was a Mary question". We had to park the second car in a different unit's space and hope it didn't get ticketed or towed. I had to call again the next morning and ask when someone would respond to our needs.
When the maintenance person arrived, he was great. He took the unnecessary things out and made room for us. I missed some time with my family to go up and talk to him but then I was able to leave and he finished the punch list.
The unit needed updates (kitchen and baths) and less nicknacks and furniture.

We were glad that Roy, our maintenance tech, was able to alleviate the parking situation but it should have been solved prior to your arrival so we apologize. We took your feedback to heart and we have gone through the property and "de-cluttered" the property by moving unnecessary items to the attic and freeing up more storage space for the next guest. Regarding the dishwasher - we have had the unit serviced and a gasket replaced so that if functions properly for the next guest. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.....we only wanted to let everyone know that we had several visits from cockroaches. Other than that the condo was clean and very well equipped for our week's stay. The air-conditioning was much better than last year and we were very happy about that!
