***As of March 9, 2024, the HOA informed us that they will be shutting down the indoor pool/hot tub area as of April 8th.
The work involves draining the pool (3 days); erecting scaffolding (1 full day) and then having the contractor come in and do the removal of the existing baffles and installation of the new baffles. The contractor estimates this could take 4-5 weeks to complete the phase of the work. Once the work is complete, the scaffolding will be removed; the pool will be filled back up, chemicals balanced and water re-heated. This takes a minimum of 3 days. They estimate the pool and hot tub will not be accessible until at least the second week of May if not later. All involved will do their best to ensure the work is done in as timely a fashion as possible, but there are factors that may be out of our control that could change the timeline. ***

"Surf’s Up" at this oceanfront first floor condo that was completely renovated in 2019, with modern new flooring, paint, fixtures and furniture throughout.

The bright, airy living room of this corner unit features a view you won’t find elsewhere - "Surf's Up" has wide sliding glass doors lead out to the expansive oceanfront deck, and a large picture window provides more unobstructed views of the ocean and beach toward the Kure Beach Pier. When you’re not watching (or riding!) the waves, take in a movie on the flat screen smart TV from the comfy rocker recliner or Queen size sleeper sofa.

The main bedroom has a Queen bed (new in 2021), as well as a flat-screen TV. The on suite bath features a spacious ceramic tile walk-in shower. The second bedroom has two Twin beds (also with new mattresses purchased in 2019) and is adjacent to the second bathroom, which has a combination shower and tub. Plan family meals in the fully stocked kitchen, upgraded with white Shaker cabinets, a subway-tile backsplash and sparkling quartz countertops. All new stainless steel appliances include a whisper-quiet dishwasher. The dining table comfortably seats six, with additional seating for four at the kitchen bar.

Ideally situated, this unit is adjacent to an outdoor pool and covered picnic area, includes parking for two cars below and offers easy access to a beach walkway between buildings.

Ocean Dunes is an ideal year-round vacation spot for families! Located at the southern end of Pleasure Island, in Kure Beach next to Historic Fort Fisher, Ocean Dunes occupies one mile of beachfront with several private beach walkways. Included with your reservation is access to all the amenities Ocean Dunes offers, as well as the Recreation Center. Amenities include three outdoor pools, a children's playground, tennis courts, a basketball court and a shuffleboard court. The Recreation Center has an indoor pool, whirlpool/spa, gym, saunas, and showers. For Recreation Center Hours and Information, call 910.239.1370.

*Please keep in mind that if you are renting a property with a pool during the off-season, it may not be open or available. Pools are usually open from mid- May to September, but dates can vary based on weather, permits, HOA guidelines, inspections, improvements, and unforeseen events. For more detailed information on specific pools, please feel free to contact our office.

The view from this place were stunning. Every morning the sunrise over the ocean was gift. We enjoyed the indoor pool, outdoor pool, and playground. Beds were comfortable and the place was clean. Grounds people were outside daily cleaning. Decor was simple and pleasing. Normal salt air wear on the place but everything worked. I stay in the area often and I will be back to this facility. Although I didn’t need anything it is also nice to have a local company with office managing this place.

the Surf's up was not a disappointment it was so close to the water it was almost like you could reach out and touch it the condo was clean and comfortable really like the hand held shower head it was just an outstanding place will go again. My sister has never stayed on the oceanfront she fell in love did not want to leave..

We had a great beach vacation and very much enjoyed our stay at Surf's up. I would certainly consider staying again. The location is perfect: oceanfront, close to beach access, and close to the pool. The property is updated and we were very comfortable there. My recommendations for the owners would be to replace the master bathroom mattress (it's horrible), and replace the vent covers on the floor which are super rusty (my kids fell on these a few times). I would also note the slider (to go on and off the deck) was extremely difficult to open/close and needs to be addressed. Overall, very happy with my stay!

The condo is in a perfect location with amazing views of the sand and ocean. The living area is lovely and comfortably furnished. The kitchen has modern appliances and plenty of dishes and cookware. The bathrooms were very clean and updated. The only negative is that the master bedroom mattress is extremely uncomfortable. As other reviewers noted it somehow sloped to the middle on both sides. We both sunk into the middle and had to climb our way out. Not good for bad backs! Regardless we truly enjoyed the condo and the amazing view and location!

Minor hiccup with the sheets and towels, but management was very quick to remedy the issue. Location/view is great. The property is very clean. Kitchen is nicely stocked. This was a great little getaway, and I would love to return for another R&R trip.

The location is spectacular, beautiful ocean views. The property was clean and had plenty of space. The only issues we had were the metal deck chairs were in disrepair; one was rusted through and broken, and the others weren't far behind. There was not enough toilet paper, but fortunately I had brought my own. Most annoying is the kitchen is not well equipped if you plan to cook at all. The pots and pans are old and minimal, the utensil selection is pitiful, and it doesn't even have a toaster. There are however, plenty of dishes and glassware.

unit appeared to be newly updated, very nice.
The only improvement I could suggest would be a NEW mattress in the master bedroom. Bed was very uncomfortable. Otherwise the place was perfect for our stay.

The location of this condo is spot on if you are looking to be on the beach. For the price we paid we could have gotten a nicer unit. The unit itself is outdated and could use some TLC. Things like replacing the rusted air vent covers, rusted chairs on the deck, fixing the lazy Suzan in the kitchen and the mattresses are about as cheap as they can get. There is also what appears to be black mold on the ceiling in the master bath. However the views are breath taking and the amenities the resort offers are great. I would recomend Ocean dunes to a friend with these issues fixed. It was a give and take but at the end of our trip we did truly enjoy our stay.

Our condo was nice. The desk overlooking the beach was fantastic. Our only problem was the renovations that were going on with our unit. Painting, sanding, hammering. I planned to call Bryant Realty when we got home but they contacted me first. They apologized for the disturbance and refunded part of my money. The fact thT they initated the call says a lot about the integrity of the company.

This condo is a great location and very clean (accept a little dusty). But there are a few things that should be noted. 1) Many light switches don't work. Should be labeld or fixed; 2) Outside back porch lights don't work; 3) Slide in living room has a slight leak of water from the top; 4) Dishwasher is making a very loud noise when run. Other than that the kitchen is well stocked, great location and we really liked our stay. Just needs a little updating and small fixes.

This is the third time we have rented this unit. Very comfortable with a fantastic view. This year there were repairs going on in the building so noise was an irritant some days, but this is temporary. Saw dolphins regularly feeding along the water. Clean and Comfortable. Had a Great Time. Will come again.

I left a detailed note with Bryant Real Estate Office. We absolutely loved the location on the first floor, corner unit. However, the AC filters were filthy, as was the louver door providing air to the AC unit. The master bedroom sliding door
did not lock, the toilet paper dispenser in hall bath was broken. The deck table was dirty and badly stained. It would have been nice to have filtered water in the kitchen faucet and fir ice cubes. All deck and front porch lights did not work. Needs spiffing-up!Would recommend only with improvements.
