Description

"Coastal Scandinavian" is a perfect little studio on the backside of the home that is cozy for two and just a block to the beach. Decorated in an eclectic but simple way with comfort and functionality as the main goal. The studio is directly attached to the main house and both share a common deck, but it also has a separate entrance and parking for the convenience and privacy of it's guests.

There is a kitchen, a dining area, living room, and bedroom with a private bath. Please note the kitchen does not have an oven but beyond that, it comes with all the needed utensils to cook a meal or simply open a bottle of wine. The living room has a very comfortable leather apartment style sofa, marble coffee table, flat panel TV, cable, DVD player and sound bar. The main storage area is also located in the living room with closet and drawer space. The bedroom has a Queen size bed, nightstands, and independent, dimmable reading lights. The bathroom, while not huge, has everything you need for that beach getaway and is accessible only through the bedroom. Please note that there is no bathtub, just a shower stall. A small bistro set is also provided on the back deck for an impromptu alfresco meal or an afternoon drink.

If you need that weekend getaway for just a short time, "Coastal Scandinavian" is the place for you!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARRIVING AT "COASTAL SCANDINAVIAN":
The entrance to the rental unit is in the rear of the property on Third Ave Extension. To get to the rental unit, take Ft. Fisher Blvd S to Davis Road.
Make the first right onto Third Ave Extension. The rental unit is at the very end of Third Ave Extension on the left side. Park in the grassy lot next to the rental entrance. The rental unit is not accessible from E Avenue. Do not attempt to enter the main house from the front door on E Avenue or park in the owner's driveway on E Avenue.

The Coastal Scandinavian is a cute home for two tucked away in the 3rd Ave Ext off Davis Rd. Overall we enjoyed our stay here in Kure Beach. The walk to the beach was short and this end of the beach was secluded compared to the other ends. It's near a perfect spot to collect shells in the mornings and evenings when the tide is low. We were met by cute little green lizards that hung out around the house. The outdoor shower around back is very convenient to get sand off when returning from our beach adventures. All of the instructions left in the home were very clear and understandable. Trash day it was raining and our nice neighbors pulled our trash cans back in for us, so I thought that was really sweet of them.

Spent a quick end of summer weekend at the Coastal Scandinavian at Kure Beach. The location was perfect, within a stone's throw of the beach, and within driving distance of so many good eating spots (the neighbors in the pink house next door were particularly nasty, so steer clear of them!).
The rental property company was wonderful and reasonable and I would definitely come back again, it was exactly what I needed to refresh and relax!

We wanted a "staycation" getaway retreat for our anniversary, and this space was perfect. It was just enough room for us, walking distance from the ocean, wonderful neighborhood, and a peaceful little retreat. Directions made it easy to find. We rode our bikes to a cute coffee shop, hung at the pier, and just walked around a lot. If we knew ahead of time, we would have stopped at the market on Saturday- be sure to find time to do that! The home had everything we needed to cook a meal while we stayed there. Enough space for parking. Seemed safe enough to leave our bikes outside overnight. Would highly recommend to the next person/people to stay.

Very neat and tidy, cute little studio. Location is great with a quick walk to the beach. Booking through Bryant Real Estate was a lot more involved than my prior air b&b/vrbo experiences. The property was clean but there are a few maintenance/updates that would immediately make the place more attractive. Good place for a 2 night stay.

Our stay was fantastic! This little house is just perfect for two people getting away for a long weekend or even a full week. The house is very comfy and you have everything you need and it's not even a 5 minute walk to the beach! We've already booked our next stay here!

Nice place. Just enough space for a couple. Biggest drawback is no washer dryer so if you are staying here for an extended period you have to carry a lot of clothes. Close to the beach. Easy parking. Clean, bright place. Watch your step - different levels of rooms can trip you.

Loved this cosy rental. Literally five min walk from the beach. It was easy to go back to the place and get back to the beach.
Decorated very cute.
Had an issue with the hot water upon arrival but they fixed it quickly.
Linens come with a two night rental, would have liked more towels.

Would stay there again.

We loved this vacation rental. It was very clean and comfortable. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood with wonderful dark night skies. It is also only a one minute walk to the beach.

Might be a little awkward if the main house was inhabited (the outdoor shower and patio are in their back porch area), but it wasn't when we were there so it was also very private. It's not clear in the directions that it's probably best to park behind (on a side street cul-de-sac) rather than in front where the address would take your GPS.

This rental was excellent - spotless, comfortable, perfect location to beach and in the area. We will definitely return. It was as attractive in person as it appeared on the website. Best of all for me, no odors of any kind - cleaning products, old or stale furnishings, smoking - nada!! Just clean!

Overall great experience. The location to the beach was good. Just a short walk. Description of the property is spot on. The property was clean and well maintained. I loved the couch and was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this to someone else. The only things I would change or at least make future guest aware of is you have to step up from the kitchen to the living area and if you don’t pay attention you could easily trip and the bed and pillows were not comfortable for me and my husband but that is a individual preference and maybe fine for someone else

If you can't stay right on the beach, this is where you should stay! Beautifully and tastefully designed and decorated, this conveniently located property met all of our needs. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in Kure/Carolina Beach and loved that we could walk out our door and be at the beach in just a 2 minute walk. We also appreciated the key code entry which allowed for an easy and flexible arrival and departure. Grab a hot donut at Britt's donuts on the boardwalk, take in some good Carolina BBQ at the Carolina Smokehouse and indulge in a breakfast from The Southerly! You won't be disappointed!

Very well-designed apartment, looks as good or better than the photos. Perfect for two people. A quick (maybe 2 blocks/less than 5 minutes) walk to a clean beach that wasn't too crowded when we were there in early June. The apartment was very clean. I contacted the property managers regarding a question and they responded quickly. The apartment was supplied with basic things like soap, toilet paper, kitchen utensils, etc. You do need to bring your own linens or rent them from the management company if you are staying for a short period of time. Overall, we loved the apartment and would go back. Check out The Veggie Wagon for healthy to-go meals, beer, snacks, etc. Also, The Fat Pelican is a fun, eclectic bar in Carolina Beach.

I had a few days off mid week and this property was available and at a great price. Very clean, no linens but I always bring my own anyway. Close to the beach. Only problem is this property has a step up for the living room right when you come in the door and the floor is all the same color and you don’t notice it especially with sunglasses on. First time I tripped I hit my knee, second time broke my toe. Definitely needs to be addressed. Would love to return to Kure Beach again.

My husband and I stayed in this property last weekend to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The property is so nicely decorated and very convenient to the beach. It was very peaceful the first night. However, the second night we had to endure a very disruptive live band and party at the property directly behind us. It completely stole the peace and quiet we longed for and we finally called the cops at 12:30am after being so frustrated with it. We had hoped to spend more time at the beach on Sunday but we were so tired from the lack of sleep that we actually checked out early and went straight home to get some rest. I would hope this isn't a normal occurrence but it's certainly worth the mention. Had it not been for this incident we would have had a perfect stay in this property.

This is a beautiful, very well done home. It has many cozy elements and delightful decor. Perfect for a couple like us. Every detail was carefully thought through and the owners have a great eye for design. The place is just as the pictures show, but even better. Its directly across the street from the beach, a quick two minute walk will get you to public access. It was such a relaxing stay. We would love to stay here again and hope to in the near future.

First the good news: A beautifully decorated and well-thought out space just a (very) short walk to the beach. Sparkling clean, very comfy, and a nice quiet street.

But the bad news: Cost is high and Management falls short in several areas.
- The contracting process (and the contract) is lengthy and strict
- No Sheets, Towels, TP, trashbags, dish soap, etc.
- They are not available after business hours and do not reply to Airbnb messages except during the work day.
- There's a grill, but no tools. I assume they did not want us to use it.
- There are no written instructions on how to use anything (wifi, tv, checkout...)
- No wine glasses or champagne flutes, no spices or kitchen basics...

We enjoyed our stay, but for the price, I expected a higher level of service and a few more amenities. If you're up for a DIY weekend, you'll get along fine.

Hi David- I want to express how disappointed we are with your comments. While we are glad that you enjoyed the unit- it is a beautiful space- we are disheartened that our efforts to please you fell short. This unit is very reasonably priced, and our contract is fully listed out in our house rules which are available to read prior to booking. Linens are not included on stays fewer than five nights- this is to keep shorter stays, like yours, low on rent while still providing the option to rent the sheets and towels if you need them.

The rest of your feedback is simply false. We do provide an entire roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, trash bags in every trash can, a pod for the dishwasher, etc. for every stay. We are absolutely available after-hours. When the office closes, our phone number becomes an emergency line that connects to the people who are on-call. We do not have access to Airbnb after hours, but we are only a phone call away. Unfortunately, the grill is not for guest use. It belongs to the owners- that is why it is not advertised as an amenity. The instructions for the TV are in the drawer of the entertainment center, and all guests receive WiFi information in an email and on their check-in packets. Per your conversation with us in the Airbnb thread, you did receive this email with the WiFi information. This unit is brand new to our program. This is why there were no spices left behind- we do not provide food items, and no one else had stayed there to "stock" the cabinets. The unit has every kitchen "basic" you could possibly need and then some. Although it does not have an oven (which is written in the description), there are all pots, pans, glasses, silverware, a crockpot, a basic coffee maker, and a French press.
